Europe is now at its highest risk of war in 30 years. This was stated by the chairman of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau.

According to him, the security of the OSCE countries is threatened by protracted conflicts, radicalization, the consequences of the pandemic and human rights violations.

Rau called for a focus on security issues in Eastern Europe, especially in eastern Ukraine, Polskie Radio reports.

“It is necessary to focus on a peaceful solution to the conflict around Ukraine in accordance with the Minsk agreements and respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of this country,” he said.

The Polish diplomat also pointed to the conflicts in Georgia, Transnistria and Nagorno-Karabakh and the crisis in Kazakhstan.

We add that on the eve of the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Josep Borrell called on the EU and NATO to “strengthen unity in the face of the Russian threat” and jointly develop a security plan.
