In Norway, after the premiere of the film “Fir Trees-8”, they noticed that the poster of the New Year’s comedy is almost identical to the Christmas card of the local photographer Stig Howard Dirdal. The latter on his Facebook accused the filmmakers of plagiarism.
It is noted that Dirdal created his own postcard to order back in 2015. The image is also on his website.
Norwegian newspaper Stavanger Aftenblad also drew attention to the similarity of the postcard with the poster “Elok-8”.
Dirdal admitted that he was surprised at this “coincidence” – the poster for the film did not even change the color of the Christmas tree decorations. As he told Dagladet, “It’s easy to see that someone was drawing inspiration from my work.” At the same time, the Norwegian added, all this caused him mixed feelings: “I am offended, but I am also flattered.”
He pointed out that, on the one hand, the idea was stolen and copyright infringed.
“On the other hand, when they use my idea to promote a movie with big stars, it means that I did everything right,” he said.
In turn, one of the film’s directors, Anton Bogdanov, told the Moscow Says radio station that the film crew did not know about the designers’ idea.
He explained that the actors were photographed one at a time, and later they collected the overall composition. Moreover, only the faces of the participants are on the poster, and the rest is computer graphics.
“I had no idea where it came from, because in the film world everyone does their own thing. If we were shooting, developing a script, then already the moment of promotion and so on – another department was engaged in this. We were all photographed in turn. We came, we were only photographed by the face, and then they substituted computer graphics, because the body there is definitely not mine, ”he said, adding that some third-party company was engaged in the design of the advertising poster.
Users of social networks did not find Bogdanov’s explanations very convincing. Twitter made fun of the situation, at the same time reproaching the filmmakers for the lack of creativity.
“Figa is a sinister photographer. He stole the idea of an incredibly talented Russian director before he even sat down to come up with concepts. They themselves cannot do anything in this west, ”jokes“ Ded Saburov ”.
User BadRussian adds: “You drive in a“ tree of people ”in Yandex, and this photo is the first in the search results. This is exactly what the poster authors did. “
“Nothing in common at all. On the right is the inscription “in cinemas.” and “Christmas trees”, but on the left – no “, – Alex Zander remarks sarcastically.
“This is different. A girl on top of the trees, ”jokes“ Sergio / Clor ”.
“Similar ideas are in the air. For six years, ”added Roskuarnadzor.
“Not stolen, but inspired!” – echoes the “strange reagent”.
A user with the nickname “Kitten Rassada” lamented: “Well, in principle, it is not surprising, we have had original ideas in creativity recently, the cat cried.”
“Kirkorov is there. Master of remakes ”, – pointed out iv.
The user Artur remembered the common phrase: “New is well forgotten old.”
Some users blamed Russian authors for their complete lack of imagination:
“I’m wondering… they could have used any other color of Christmas tinsel… any! But they took the same shade, ”the“ cube of malachite ”is indignant.
“After all, nobody decorates us with candles. We would have taken at least balls, or something, “- noted the user” Glass for whiskey. “
