Chukotka, Chechnya and the Nenets Autonomous Okrug (NAO) turned out to be the “leaders” in premature mortality among Russian regions, RIA Novosti reports, citing a study by the Center for Expertise and Quality Control of Medical Aid (CEKKMP) of the Ministry of Health.
When calculating the data, the “Years of life lost” system was used, which makes it possible to assess the scale of life expectancy losses in the regional context. According to the results of the study, in Chukotka this figure was 7.76, in Chechnya – 7.18, in the NAO – 7.17. In addition, Tyva (7.16 years lost) and the Orenburg region (6.91 lost years) were in the top five for this indicator.
The lowest premature mortality was found in Ingushetia (3.59 lost years of life), in Adygea (4.5 lost years), in Sevastopol (4.64 lost years), in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic (4.69 lost years) and Kaliningrad area (4.86 lost years).
