The Russian Foreign Ministry said that “the moment of truth is coming” in relations with NATO

There is a moment of truth in relations between Russia and NATO. This, as reported by “Interfax”, said the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Grushko.

“It is no exaggeration to say that a moment of truth is coming in our relations with the alliance. That is why we took such an unusual step from the point of view of classical diplomacy: we presented detailed considerations in the form of draft legally binding agreements, where absolutely clearly, unambiguously and with frankness that excludes any misunderstandings, our considerations on how should be taken into account the legitimate interests of the Russian Federation in the field of military security, and how we generally see the further evolution of European security, ”he said.

According to Grushko, Russia is going to negotiations with NATO with absolutely realistic expectations and the hope that this will be a serious, deep conversation.

Russia-NATO talks on security guarantees will take place in Brussels on January 12.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry published draft documents on ensuring security guarantees from the United States and NATO, where Moscow, in particular, demands guarantees that NATO will not expand and that it will refuse to deploy strike systems in Europe that could threaten Russia.
