On the morning of this Tuesday, January 11, another violent event was reported in the south of the city.
A motorcyclist was shot and wounded in Guasmo. It happened at 10:00 at the Guayas y Quil 2 cooperative.
The victim was taken to a hospital in the sector, while police units arrived to investigate the attack. The victim’s motorcycle was at the scene and several neighbors were interviewed.
Major Paul Salazar explained that the motorcyclist has two injuries; one in the thorax and one in the left leg, which is stable at the moment.
The uniformed officer also reported that the victim records six previous arrests for robbery and extortion.
Salazar explained that the victim was on his motorcycle and was followed by two more motorcycles. Six shots were fired from one of them. At the scene, six struck pods and a few more cartridges were raised that the assassins would have dropped.
Shortly after, it was learned that the uniformed officers detained two suspects who were involved in the attack. The policeman explained that a patrol car was in the area and an operation was carried out that allowed the arrest of two of the four involved, who were transferred to the Prosecutor’s Office. (I)
