Investigators in Buryatia have opened a criminal case into the death of two people after consuming an unknown liquid as alcohol. This was reported in the regional investigation department of the RF IC.
“On January 10, six residents of the Tapkhar village, aged 33 to 46 years old, were hospitalized in the Republican Clinical Hospital with a diagnosis of“ the consequences of the toxic effect of unknown substances ”and“ the consequences of the toxic effect of ethanol, severe ”. Two patients died a short time later, ”the message says.
A criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Sale of goods and products that do not meet the requirements of the safety of life and health of consumers, resulting in the death of two persons”).
The owner of the apartment said that the liquid used by the deceased was alcohol, which was given to him by his acquaintances.
Earlier it was reported that eight people died from poisoning with surrogate alcohol in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. Prior to that, a criminal case was opened in Tyumen over the sale of methyl alcohol, which was poured into unsuspecting vodka bottles and sold to citizens under the Rodniki Sibiri brand. Nine people became victims of surrogate alcohol.
