SuperJob: The average salary increase in Russia in 2021 amounted to 9.5%

Only six out of 10 companies raised employee salaries in 2021. These are the results of a survey conducted by the SuperJob service in early 2022 in all districts of the country.

At the end of November 2021, 29% of Russian employers announced their plans to raise wages by the end of the year, 30% of companies stated that they had already revised wages in the last six months, another 23% did it from six months to a year ago.

“A poll conducted already in 2022 showed that the number of enterprises where wages were raised less than six months ago amounted to 37%, from six to 12 months ago – another 21%,” the press service of SuperJob said.

The average salary increase in 2021 was 9.5%, which is 1.5% more than in 2020. “Only one out of seven respondents said that his salary increased by 11-25%, only three people out of 100 – that the growth ranged from 26% to 50%. Only 1% reported a salary increase of more than 50%, ”the researchers said.

At the same time, as noted in SuperJob, 29% of respondents expected the annual premium at the end of 2021, and 30% received it, according to the results of the latest survey. This is one of the highest rates in the last decade, SuperJob notes. Most often, the awards were given to Russians under the age of 34. At the end of the year, women were encouraged more often than men: 34% versus 26%, respectively.
