Rospotrebnadzor of St. Petersburg did not rule out new restrictions due to coronavirus

In St. Petersburg, restrictions against coronavirus may be strengthened. Representatives of the Smolny and regional departments of Rospotrebnadzor told reporters about this.

According to the head of the health committee Dmitry Lisovets, the current measures are sufficient, but it is unclear whether the situation will develop according to the scenario in Western Europe, where an increase in the incidence rate due to the omicron has been recorded.

“It is not excluded, of course. And, perhaps, in the future it will be necessary to introduce additional measures, ”said the representative of Smolny.

Irina Chkhindzheria, head of epidemiological surveillance of the Rospotrebnadzor department in St. Petersburg, agreed with him. She described her colleague’s answer as comprehensive.

“Indeed, based on the prevailing epidemiological situation, anti-epidemic measures will be strengthened. But at the present time we need to do what we have, “- the representative of the department summed up.

Earlier, Rospotrebnadzor announced cases of suspicion of the omicron strain.
