Unase rescued a woman who was being held against her will in the blocks of Sauces 4

The victim’s partner had threatened her and would not let her go home; a friend of the victim went to the police.

The residents of Sauces 4 were alarmed on Sunday night when they saw several official vans arrive with agents from the Special Operations Group (GOE) and the Anti-kidnapping and Extortion Unit (Unase). Armed and with intervention teams they arrived at block 40 of Sauces 4, as there was a complaint that a citizen had been held against her will since Saturday in one of the building’s apartments.

After several hours of negotiation, the woman was released and placed in safe custody by the police at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The deputy chief of the Modelo district, Tcnl. Jefferson Valladares Coronel, explained that at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, police from the Sauces circuit, at the request of ECU911, went to the property with a citizen who had indicated that her friend had been held in an apartment since Saturday night.

He specified that once the complaint of the alleged plagiarism was received, the police officers went up to one of the departments of block 40 and made contact with a citizen, who had responded in an arrogant and defiant way, and who at that time heard a woman say that she was held against their will.

It indicated that given the refusal to open the door and in order to protect the life of the citizen, they requested the collaboration of the special units, and a tactical team from the Special Operations Group (GOE), the Motorized Operations Group ( GOM – Modelo) and the Anti-kidnapping and Extortion Unit (Unase). After an intense dialogue, which lasted until 9:30 p.m., they managed to persuade Paúl Enrique MB to open the door of the apartment.

The subject was arrested and the woman released and placed in safe custody. Nervous, she said that she feared for her life because her boyfriend, who was holding her hostage, had told her that if she filed some kind of complaint, he would threaten her life. She was transferred to a health care home to receive psychological care. (I)
