Kazakhstan’s Secretary of State called the cause of the riots “a conspiracy of internal and external forces”

The unrest in Kazakhstan resulted from “a conspiracy of two sides to organize a coup in the country,” said the country’s Secretary of State Yerlan Karin.

According to ZTB, Karin said that there was a “conspiracy of internal and some external forces”, since “both Kazakh and foreign citizens” took part in the riots. He also added that Kazakhstan faced “a hybrid terrorist attack … with the aim of destabilization and coup.”

Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan claimed that among the people who took part in the riots, there are “persons who have experience of combat participation in hot spots on the side of radical Islamist groups.”

Let us remind you that protests began in Kazakhstan after the New Year. The protesters demanded a reduction in the price of liquefied gas. The government of Kazakhstan has resigned. A state of emergency is in force throughout the country. The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, requested assistance from the CSTO.
