The chief prosecutor of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug Yevgeny Botvinkin ordered to organize an inspection that will help identify all the points of illegal production of ethyl alcohol, alcoholic and alcohol-containing products. This decision was made after the death of eight residents of the Kondinskoye village in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra, who were poisoned by surrogate alcohol.
The owner of the outlet where the counterfeit was sold was detained after trying to escape and will soon be brought to the investigator to carry out the necessary investigative actions. A criminal case has been initiated and is being investigated into the sale of deadly alcohol, which is under the control of the district attorney’s office.
According to TASS, in addition to the eight dead, seven more people suffered from the use of surrogate alcohol. Four of them were taken to the district hospital, three are being treated in the district hospital.
Like the counterfeit alcohol from Tyumen, which killed nine people and turned out to be methyl alcohol, the surrogate from Kondinsky “disguised” itself as a “respectable” alcoholic drink – it was sold under the guise of Tsarskaya Okhota vodka.
