Eight people have died from poisoning with surrogate alcohol. This is reported by the Investigation Department of the RF IC for the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.
“According to the investigation, in January 2022, several residents of the village. Kondinskoye, Kondinsky District, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Ugra, purchased an unlicensed alcohol-containing liquid that poses a danger to the life and health of consumers. As a result of ingestion of the specified liquid on January 8 and 9, 2022, six men and two women died, ”the message says.
A criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (sale of goods and products that do not meet the requirements of the safety of life or health of consumers, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence).
Earlier it was reported that a criminal case was opened in Tyumen over the sale of methyl alcohol, which was poured into unsuspecting vodka bottles and was sold to citizens under the Rodniki Sibiri brand. Nine people became victims of surrogate alcohol.
