“MK”: A teenage girl from Irkutsk fell into a coma, not waiting for the arrival of the ambulance, and died from the effects of a stroke

A fourteen-year-old schoolgirl from Bratsk (Irkutsk region), who felt unwell in early December, waited for the ambulance to arrive too late. According to MK in Irkutsk, the dispatcher of the ambulance station hesitated to send doctors, although the call from the girl’s mother was followed four times. An ambulance employee decided that the schoolgirl had become ill due to pregnancy or drug overdose.

Only after the fourth call were doctors sent to the patient, but during the waiting time she fell into a coma. Two weeks later, the girl died from the effects of a stroke.

The report on the negligence of doctors, which led to the death of a teenager, attracted the attention of the Ministry of Health of the Irkutsk Region. “The first vacant team was sent to the call, after the patient was hospitalized, the necessary specialists from Irkutsk were involved in the situation, who consulted local doctors,” the regional Ministry of Health said, explaining that an official check is being carried out on this fact.
