Damage to business from riots in Kazakhstan estimated at $ 200 million

By Friday evening, the amount of damage from the riots in Kazakhstan amounted to about $ 200 million, informburo.kz reports with reference to the calculations of the national chamber of entrepreneurs of the country “Atameken”.

According to the organization, 848 affected business entities and 1021 objects were registered in ten regions of the country, including 789 subjects and 950 objects in Alma-Ata. Atameken estimates the approximate amount of damage at about 87.2 billion tenge (about $ 200 million), of which 85.8 billion tenge in Alma-Ata.

Let us remind you that protests in Kazakhstan began after the New Year due to the rise in prices for liquefied gas. The government resigned, while the CSTO Collective Security Council decided to send a collective peacekeeping force to Kazakhstan at the request of the president of the republic.

Law enforcement officials of Kazakhstan have detained 3,811 people in connection with the riots, the Kazakh Tengrinews agency reported on the Telegram channel data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to the ministry, 26 participants in the riots were eliminated, another 26 people were injured.
