In Novosibirsk, City Council deputy Georgy Andreev turned to the prosecutor’s office with a request to verify the involvement of a representative of the United Russia party in the death of 100-year-old Great Patriotic War veteran Nikolai Bonkin, as well as assess the actions of party representatives for signs of Art. 357 of the Criminal Code (genocide) after their visits to veterans throughout the country, reports the publication “Taiga.info” with reference to the deputy’s appeal.
Reportedly, the representative of United Russia Tatyana Sazonova published on social networks a report on the visit to Nikolai Bonkin and the presentation of gifts to him from one of the State Duma deputies. The photographs show that social distance was not observed during the visit, and the woman without a mask pressed her face against the veteran. A few days later, Bonkin contracted the coronavirus and died.
Deputy Andreev asked the prosecutor’s office to check whether the people in the photo have been vaccinated against the coronavirus and whether they currently have signs of COVID-19. In a commentary to the publication, he stressed that representatives of the State Duma deputies “violating the social distance and risking the lives of veterans, hastened to give them penny gifts with the symbols of their party.”
In turn, a party representative who visited the veteran told the publication that “all security measures were observed,” and noted that the veteran could have been infected with the coronavirus by his youngest daughter, who is currently in quarantine with a confirmed coronavirus. Representatives of the “United Russia” called “unfounded” the assumption that the death of Nikolai Bonkin is connected with their visit. According to Sazonova, both she and Santa Claus, who was present during the visit, were “vaccinated, have QR codes, were wearing masks, and there were no symptoms of the disease.”
