German Foreign Minister: Germany’s views on arms supplies to Ukraine differ from the United States

Germany’s position on the supply of weapons to Ukraine differs from the approaches of the United States, which is stepping up military aid under the pretext of protecting against “Russian aggression.” This, as reported by RIA Novosti, said the head of the German Foreign Ministry, Annalena Berbock.

“Let me make it very clear that we have our own different position on the supply of weapons to Ukraine,” she said after a meeting in Washington with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

Blinken, in turn, said that the United States will continue military assistance to Ukraine.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden held a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, assuring that Washington and its allies would give a “decisive answer” in the event of Russia’s “invasion” of Ukraine.

And before that, on the evening of December 30, during an almost hour-long telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the head of the White House warned about Washington and its allies’ readiness for a decisive response if Russia “invades Ukraine.”
