A peacekeeping company from the 103rd airborne brigade of the special operations forces was sent from Belarus. Tajikistan sends about 200 military personnel, Armenia – about 70 people.
The main tasks of the organization’s peacekeepers are the protection of important state and military facilities and assistance to local security officials in stabilizing the situation and returning it to the legal field. Local security officials themselves must restore legal order in the country, said the vice-speaker of the Russian Federation Council Kosachev in a comment to RIA Novosti.
