ORDA: In Alma-Ata, a member of the TV channel’s crew died during shelling

In Alma-Ata, a film crew of the Almaty TV channel came under fire near the residence of the President of Kazakhstan.

According to the Telegram channel Orda.kz, the driver of the car died. The journalist shattered several fingers and was hospitalized.

The police reported that the situation in Republic Square, which is located near the residence, is stable. However, local correspondents report that the shooting continues there.

In the Kyzylorda region of Kazakhstan, a red level of threat was declared, 77 of the 168 victims of the riots were hospitalized.

Local media publish footage of burnt-out National Guard vehicles, as well as a video from Almaty showing ammunition lost by security forces during clashes with protesters.

Also in social networks and messengers, a record is being distributed, which shows how the crowd brought a group of people in police uniforms to their knees. There is no confirmation that the video was made in Kazakhstan during the days of the riots.

Recall that the first Russian military from the peacekeeping contingent have already arrived in Kazakhstan: these are units of the 45th separate brigade of the special forces of the Airborne Forces, the Ivanovo and Ulyanovsk formations of the Airborne Forces. A peacekeeping company from the 103rd airborne brigade of the special operations forces was sent from Belarus. Tajikistan sends about 200 military personnel, Armenia – about 70 people.

The main tasks of the organization’s peacekeepers are the protection of important state and military facilities and assistance to local security officials in stabilizing the situation and returning it to the legal field. Local security officials themselves must restore legal order in the country, said the vice-speaker of the Russian Federation Council Kosachev in a comment to RIA Novosti.
