The protests in Kazakhstan may have consequences for the Russians – it is possible that the authorities will tighten the screws stronger. This opinion was expressed on Instagram by TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak.
“Well, what can I say? Will be worse. I can imagine how news from Kazakhstan is being watched in our country behind high walls and in old squares, ”she said.
According to her, “the scenario with the current president Tokayev is such a greeting to Medvedev-Putin’s Russia.”
“What is happening in Kazakhstan fraught with Russians? Obviously, the nuts will tighten more. The government is afraid of revolution, and the revolution on the threshold is always perceived by it as a) a threat b) a Russian field of experiments where you can make money. (Baikonur is ours?) C) an object lesson. The lesson that Kazakhstan taught our political elite: the option to leave someone in the chair and step into the shadows is not an option; only to keep everything in hand, only to manage alone. From now on, we are unlikely to go for such castling, “Sobchak continued.
The TV presenter added that she was “mesmerized” by the picture of the fall of the empire.
“I’m not in favor, of course, I’m strongly against it. But I look from the side and can’t look away. Not long ago I was in Almaty for work, sat in the gorgeous “Ritz”, listened to about the great history, great victories, science. Such a usual intimate atmosphere of such events: good cuisine, calm evenings. And here’s the story: ripped off shoulder straps, burning police cars, seized airports, ”she concluded.
Protests in Kazakhstan began after the New Year over the rise in the price of liquefied gas. Clashes began. Police in the city of Almaty announced the elimination of “dozens” of protesters who attacked administrative buildings. The government resigned, while the CSTO Collective Security Council decided to send a collective peacekeeping force to Kazakhstan at the request of the president of the republic. Paratroopers are being transferred there from Russia.
