Hearing to formulate charges for alleged violation against Naomi Arcentales is again postponed

Regarding the course of the investigation into the death of Arcentales, a lawyer indicated that he already knew the file of the second autopsy carried out on Naomi’s body.

MANTA, Manabi

The hearing to formulate charges for the alleged crime of rape against Naomi Arcentales, which was due to take place on the afternoon of this Wednesday 5 at the Judicial Palace of Manta, was postponed.

That measure was adopted because one of the defense attorneys of one of the two named in this case is infected with COVID-19.

This was indicated by Kenny Solórzano, one of the lawyers of the Arcentales Sabando family, who is carrying out this complaint made last August against two people, identified with the initials SVMA and JECA

Days before her death, Naomi reported three men for the alleged sex crime; two of them were summoned for this hearing.

Solórzano pointed out that the new date for the hearing to formulate charges was agreed for next Thursday, January 13 at 3:00 p.m. in the same courthouse.

Luigi García, who is also a lawyer for the Arcentales Sabando family, pointed out that it is the third deferred hearing in this case.

Defense of the prosecutor Juan Carlos I., investigated in the Naomi Arcentales case, will sue the State; model family will go to international organizations

Another investigation carried out by García is related to the death of Arcentales, which occurred on December 13 of last year.

“What are we playing at? The defendants are matched. The defendants change their technical defense every week, today they attach a certificate that one of the legal professionals has COVID and with this the present hearing is postponed, without considering that the appearance of the Public Defender had been ordered, “said García.

The jurist pointed out that this is a very important audience and argued that they will be attentive to the development of this process.

Regarding the course of the investigation into the death of Arcentales, García indicated that he had already learned about the file of the second autopsy performed on Naomi’s body.

According to the legal professional, the document only establishes the mechanical cause of death and does not determine the way in which the young woman died. “And there are very important elements that the Prosecutor’s Office must assess, and elements that I cannot reveal because it would incur the crime of disseminating confidential information,” declared García.

Outside the Palace of Justice, several women’s defense organizations came to demand justice for the rape complaint made by Naomi, who even gave an advance version, a week before her death. (I)
