Four days elapsed for the body of the boy Yetzael Vera Cedeño to be rescued from the Palenque river by firefighters from the Balzar canton, in the province of Guayas, on the afternoon of this Tuesday the 4th.
Vera, 2 years old, fell into the river on Sunday the 1st and was reported missing.
Although the boy’s family was not sure if he had drowned in the river or if some stranger had kidnapped him, the search for the tributary that passes through the Vuelta Larga compound did not stop.
Through social networks, the mother and relatives of the child shared a photograph of him in order to obtain information and thus find his whereabouts.

Risk Management Personnel from the Decentralized Autonomous Government (GAD) of Palenque, members of the April 26 Association, elements of the Special Force Group 26 Cenepa de Quevedo and the Palenque Fire Department also collaborated with the search.
According to relatives, the boy was playing with a cousin of the same age outside their home, located in the La Libertad compound, in Palenque, when they approached the river.
