Ecuadorians from Florida, United States, will not have to present the PCR test, until January 6

The Ministry of Health ordered that compatriots do not have to deliver the document at the time of boarding.

Ecuadorians arriving in the country from Florida, United States, should not present the RT-PCR test against COVID-19 at the time of boarding, announced the Ministry of Public Health (MSP). The provision runs until January 6.

“This measure, whose application will be until Thursday, January 6, 2022, is due to the shortage of tests in that state of the North American country. After the date indicated, a review will be made; taking into account the availability of tests from that locality ”, informed the State Portfolio, through a statement.

In addition, he pointed out that the boarding of people in the airlines is authorized with the following requirements:

  • Present a vaccination card with a complete schedule (two doses), with the application of the second dose at least 14 days before the trip.
  • Take the RT-PCR test upon arrival in Quito or Guayaquil, at the expense of the traveler.
  • Perform preventive isolation according to current guidelines.

Finally, the entity indicated that if travelers cannot deliver the digital declaration, they will have to present the physical document to the MSP medical staff when they arrive in the country. (I)
