The body of a lifeless man shot in the head was found this Sunday morning, January 2, at the Santa Rosa de El Comunal site, located at kilometer 17 of the El Carmen-Pedernales road, in the north of Manabí. .
Several inhabitants of the place stated that on Saturday at approximately 11:30 p.m. they saw a car pass by on the street that is on the edge of the park, heading towards the river and then they heard a firearm detonation.
That night, the residents saw that the same car left by another road and then took the road to Pedernales, they told the Police. At that time, no one approached the place to see what was happening, but on Sunday morning, people who were passing through the area observed the body lying on the ground with the gunshot wound.
After that, they alerted the Police, who went to the place together with elements of the Directorate of Violent Deaths (Dinased).
The man had a hole in the back of his head and is presumed to have been made to kneel before he was murdered.
The victim was wearing a yellow sweatshirt and a white warmer, it was reported.
Once the corpse was removed, it was transferred to the Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas Forensic Center, waiting for the next of kin to identify it.
