Priest Pavel Ostrovsky warned believers against mistakes in the week before Christmas

The time from New Year to Christmas should be planned out so that it does not turn into idleness, idleness that breeds sins. According to RIA Novosti, this was stated by the rector of the Church of St. George the Victorious in Nakhabino, priest Pavel Ostrovsky.

“Other sins are ‘built’ on the foundation of idleness: idle talk, despondency, that is, laziness, when a person ceases to work and cannot do anything in the end,” he noted and added that such a state is unacceptable for a Christian.

The priest advised to prepare for Christmas: come to the temple on Christmas Eve, spend time with your family. According to him, you can take a walk, watch a movie – “if only there was no idleness.”

Earlier, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, said that the situation with the spread of coronavirus in Russia could worsen after the New Year holidays. She said that “given the upcoming New Year holidays, when the number of contacts between people is already increasing, the risks of the spread of the new omicron strain are increasing.”
