The somnologist, a specialist in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of sleep disorders, recommended that Russians gradually restore their usual sleep patterns from January 2. This will make it possible to quickly adapt to working days after the holidays, Alexander Kalinkin, candidate of medical sciences, somnologist of the Lomonosov Moscow State University’s medical research and education center, told the Moskva agency.
“On holidays, many people sleep very differently from normal. But it is advisable to try to reduce the time of morning sleep already from January 2, and even more so. And to switch to the mode that is characteristic of a person, ”Kalinkin recommended.
He added that the optimal sleep period for most people is from 22: 00-23: 00 to 7:00.
People with a free schedule can afford to sleep at different times. But, as the expert warned, this leads to a strong imbalance of one’s own “internal clock”, there are problems with night sleep. “Many people start falling asleep only in the morning, and get up after 12:00,” said Kalinkin.
