The Municipality of Quito, through the City Museums Foundation informed citizens that its spaces: City Museum, Carmen Alto Museum, Interactive Science Museum, Yaku Park Water Museum and the Center for Contemporary Art, They will be closed to the public from December 31 to January 12, 2022.
Attention is will resume on Thursday, January 13 of 2022.
The reason for this closure is due to the presence of the new omicron variant of COVID-19. According to the statement, these spaces will adapt its operating conditions, in order to offer the public a quality but safe cultural and educational offer.
In this time they will perform cleaning and deep disinfection work. They will also adapt the physical spaces and will plan the educational and cultural offer for 2022.
As of January 13, the public visiting these cultural spaces of the city must comply with biosafety regulations and physical distancing.
Additionally, they must Present the identity card and the vaccination card.
