Dacha amnesty extended until March 1, 2031

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law extending the dacha amnesty.

The simplified procedure for registering citizens’ rights to land plots and residential, garden houses will be valid until March 1, 2031. Also, now life-long inheritable possession and the right to perpetual use of a land plot are recognized as property rights.

According to the law, the owner of a land plot provided to a citizen before joining before October 30, 2001 will not need to apply to Rosreestr to acquire ownership of it.

Also, the law will legalize residential buildings built before May 14, 1998 and located within the boundaries of the settlement on land plots that are in state or municipal ownership.

It is noted that in order to register the rights to a residential building and a land plot under it, a citizen must submit one application to the local government, with the attachment of a document confirming the fact of owning the house.

The law introduces a mechanism for a simplified free registration of rights to residential buildings and, at the same time, to the land plots on which they are located.
