The micro-regional stations will have special hours on holidays
The Municipality of Quito reported, through a bulletin, that the interprovincial terminals Quitumbe (south of the capital) and Carcelén (north) are will keep enabled 24 hours during the New Years holiday.
According to the Metropolitan Public Mobility and Public Works Company (Epmmop) this Friday, December 31, a special operation will begin for the holiday, it will conclude on January 2, 2022.
The authorities recommended to users plan your trips in advance and consult the transport operators, of your preference, the schedule of frequencies and destinations.
Epmmop estimates that during these three days of vacation from Quitumbe and Carcelén they displace approximately 60 thousand users. This holiday is less compared to Christmas, where around 88 thousand passengers traveled. This time they expect a smaller number since many people travel from December 24 and extend their vacations until the end of the year.
They also reported that will keep the biosafety protocol active. The distance between people will be verified, the mandatory use of the mask and frequent hand washing will be recommended.
Transport operators must also comply with biosecurity measures inside the units.
The National Transit Agency (ANT) and the Metropolitan Transit Agency (AMT) will carry out mechanical inspection of units, review of documents and operating permits of the service providers.
