The deputy head of the Aktanysh region in Tatarstan, Raikhan Galimyanova, wrote a letter of resignation. This happened after an audio recording appeared on the Web, where a woman stated that she did not want “many Russians to come here and there were churches here,” reports Business Online.
The scandalous story began with the fact that in one of the district cemeteries, unknown persons sawed down an Orthodox cross on the grave. After that, an entry appeared on the Web, in which the deputy head of the Aktanysh region, Raikhan Galimyanova, says that the enemy of Orthodox symbols is the head of the region, Engel Fattakhov. She also makes frank statements: “Aktanysh region is the cleanest Tatar region,” and besides, “she has no idea how there will be a church in some place in Aktanysh.”
According to Orthodox traditions, Viktor Smirnov, a resident of Naberezhnye Chelny, was buried at the end of September. He wanted to rest in the cemetery in Aktanysh. According to his sister-in-law Irina Gregorzhevskaya, immediately after the funeral, the cemetery caretaker said that it was undesirable to put a cross on the grave, but the family did not heed the recommendation. In early October, the relatives discovered that the wooden cross on the grave had been cut down and contacted the police and the district administration. The family met several times with the imam-mukhtasib of the district Ruslan Hazrat Murtazin and the deputy head of the Aktanysh district Raikhan Galimyanova, trying to find out why the administration was inactive.
Judging by the records from the negotiations published by Gregorzhevskaya, the khazrat expressed the wish of his parishioners that a stone should be placed on Smirnov’s grave instead of a cross.
After the story appeared in the media, the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov demanded that the leadership of the Aktanysh region investigate this egregious case. The head of the region, Engel Fattakhov, received a stern warning.
The relatives restored the grave themselves back in November. The perpetrators of vandalism were never found.
Meanwhile, a recording of the conversation between Gregorzhevskaya and the deputy head of the district Galimyanova, which was published by the Readovka telegram channel, has spread on the Internet. During the conversation in the Tatar language, the deputy head directly admitted that the ban on putting an end to the cross came from her boss Fattakhov: “This must be resolved, therefore I cannot live without Engel Navapovich. He himself said not to give up. “
Then the official explained the motive: Aktanyshsky district is “the cleanest Tatar district”, and the municipality’s leadership is faced with the task of retaining this title. “We want to preserve Tatarness. Therefore, we do not want many Russians to come here and there were churches here. For Russians, it is more comfortable to live where there are many Russians. I speak openly about this. This is like a second Mecca with us, – emphasizes the voice on the recording. – I can’t imagine how in some place of Aktanysh there will be a church … We have a task from the republic – to illuminate and protect the national.
As a result, Raikhan Galimyanova wrote a letter of resignation of her own free will.
