Narcologist explained whether it is worth having a hangover on January 1

The morning after New Year’s Eve is harsh for many: drinking has a headache, nausea and dry throat. Is it worth hanging over to alleviate the condition, the narcologist Ilya Kisler explained to the Rosbalt correspondent.

“If you are addicted to alcohol, the new drink will really feel better, and very quickly. But it is necessary to distinguish between alcohol intoxication and withdrawal symptoms, although among the people they have merged into a single “hangover”, the expert emphasized.

The doctor urged to be wary, because withdrawal symptoms are one of the signs of alcohol addiction. But alcohol intoxication is also found in quite healthy people who simply went too far with alcohol.

One way or another, no one should have a hangover in the morning – in healthy people, the body is already trying to get rid of the decay products of alcohol. And people with addiction have a risk of going into a binge.

Do not be afraid of morning sickness – this is a normal body reaction to toxins that occurs when alcohol breaks down. If there is vomiting, this is a good sign – the stomach is emptied. You can call it yourself – drink a couple of glasses of warm water in small sips.
