“Solidarity in the face of military aggression”: the US and Poland discussed their relationship with Russia

Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau discussed with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken the further development of relations with the Russian Federation.

According to the press service of the ministry, the parties spoke by phone about the current security situation in Europe, including tensions on the Ukrainian border.

The politicians agreed to maintain a dialogue with Moscow on the basis of the principles of “diplomacy and containment” and to coordinate all actions with their allies.

Rau and Blinken also noted that the international community should maintain unity and solidarity “against the background of Russia’s hostile position” and take serious measures in the event of “further military aggression by the Kremlin.”

Earlier, the expert on geopolitics Jacek Bartosiak said that Poland is able to win a military victory over Russia, but for this it needs a reform of its own army.

In addition, US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan promised Poland protection in the event of “Russian aggression.”
