In Kiev, it is necessary to deploy a territorial defense system in the near future against the backdrop of the threat of a “Russian invasion.” This statement was made by the mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko. His words are quoted in a message on the website of the city government.
He explained that “the statements and threats of Russia, the accumulation of the aggressor’s troops on the borders of our state prompt us to prepare for various possible scenarios of events.”
Klitschko stressed that there should be a clear plan of action in a critical situation, the coordination and actions of all services and structural units should be worked out. The Mayor of Kiev pointed out the need to pay special attention to the safety of critical infrastructure facilities in the city.
There are more than 500 such facilities in the capital of the country.
Meanwhile, as it became known earlier, in the Luhansk region, on the border with Russia, a hundred-kilometer fence with a height of two meters was erected. It is specified that the fence, covered with barbed wire, begins in the Kharkiv region. 15 CCTV cameras and four operational centers are installed along it.
The representative of the Luhansk border detachment, Tatiana Letoshko, noted that although this helps to detain the violators, at the same time it will not be able to deter the offensive of a potential enemy.
