The social network Instagram has blocked the page of the TV channel “Crimea-24” for unknown reasons. This was announced by the TV channel itself, adding that the technical support service does not respond to puzzled letters, and Santa Claus and his reindeer never came to the rescue.
“While the specialists are busy restoring access to the main site, we have created a backup account,” the TV channel explained in its Telegram channel, adding that this account is the only official one.
This is not the first example of blocking by foreign messengers of a channel that started satellite broadcasting outside the peninsula after the annexation of Crimea to Russia. In May 2020, Google’s video service removed the YouTube channel without explanation, which was perceived as a manifestation of censorship. On March 12, 2021, Instagram partially blocked the channel’s page, accusing it of “boosting likes”. Subsequently, the “Crimea-24” page was unlocked again.
