About 3.5 thousand people, including 2 thousand police officers and 1.5 thousand representatives of the Russian Guard, will ensure the protection of order on New Year’s Eve in the center of Moscow. This was reported by the press service of the Department of Regional Security and Anti-Corruption.
On the other days of the New Year holidays, as noted in the department, about 1.1 thousand police officers and Rosgvardia officers will monitor order on the streets of Moscow.
The department recalled that in connection with the high alert regime in Moscow due to the situation with the coronavirus, cultural events and children’s New Year’s performances will be held in a special regime. “The number of spectators for each performance will be no more than 70% of the total occupancy of the hall,” the press service said.
At the same time, until January 9, the festival “Travel to Christmas” will be open at 27 sites, within the framework of which New Year’s trade, carousels and ice rinks will be organized.
Earlier it became known that the Red Square due to coronavirus restrictions will be closed on New Year’s Eve.
