A criminal case was opened in Tomsk after the second fire in “Lenta”

The criminal case on attempted destruction of someone else’s property by arson was initiated after a fire the day before in the Tomsk hypermarket “Lenta”. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Media.

“A criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of a crime provided for by part 3 of article 30 of part 2 of article 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Currently, the defendant has been charged with the incriminated act and he has been detained, ”the message says.

According to preliminary data, in the store, a man took a flammable liquid and a gas burner from the counter, poured a combustible mixture over pyrotechnic items and set it on fire.

The suspect is a local resident born in 1994.

The fire occurred in a store on Pushkin Street, 59 in the pyrotechnics department. The fire spread over 20 sq. m. Customers and store staff were evacuated, no one was injured. The fire has been extinguished.

On December 21, a fire also broke out in Lenta on Elizarovykh Street in Tomsk. It was reported that a store employee could be involved. The area of ​​the fire was 3.5 thousand square meters. m.
