In the center of St. Petersburg – on Konyushennaya Square – the main city skating rink has opened. This is a pavilion in the style of Petersburg architecture with stands for spectators. The decorations are made with elements of the Peter the Great Baroque, the area of the ice arena is 720 sq. m.
The skating rink will work until January 16, the organizing committee said. They clarified that the opening of the skating rink took place “despite all the weather difficulties.” The first visitors have already arrived, mass skating was held in test mode. The skating rink combines the festive “winter route” linking the New Year tree on Palace Square and the Christmas fair on Manezhnaya Square.
The entrance to the skating rink is available upon presentation of the QR code. Up to a hundred people can ride the skating rink at the same time. For children under seven years old, pensioners, members of large families and the disabled, access to the skating rink is free. The pavilion has a warm foyer and skate rental.
Artists of the Children’s Ice Theater will play Cinderella twice a day until January 16, tickets for the performance can be purchased online. At the end of each performance, the audience will be greeted by Santa Claus.
