Governor of St. Petersburg Beglov admitted personal responsibility for snow removal

The Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov considers himself responsible for the quality of snow removal, “because it cannot be otherwise.”

He noted that over the past three weeks, 1 million cubic meters of snow had been taken out of the city, while over the last snowless winter, a total of 1 million 300 tons were taken out, Interfax reports.

There are several snow-melting stations and places for collecting snow in St. Petersburg, but some stations are far away, so you have to store snow in the city center, the governor said.

He recalled that universities, shopping centers and shops are required to clean the surrounding area. According to the governor, this snow is often pushed onto the roadway, waiting for someone to remove it. Beglov believes that these issues require regulation.

“I am being pushed to pour in more reagents. We went through all this with you – spoiled shoes, paws of dogs and cats and everything else. If there is a very difficult situation, you will probably have to go to this moment, “- said the head of St. Petersburg.
