Cold snap is promised in Moscow on New Year’s Eve, but by December 31 and January 1, frosts will subside.
As the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand told RIA Novosti, next week the air temperature will drop below minus 20 degrees. According to him, on Monday, like this weekend, it will be up to minus seven degrees during the day. At the same time, a blizzard is predicted in the city.
From Tuesday, December 28, the capital will get colder. At night, the thermometer will show minus 18 degrees, during the day it will be from minus 10 to minus 15 degrees. On Wednesday, December 29, frosts will get stronger – it is expected to minus 23 at night and up to minus 16 degrees during the day.
The meteorologist also told about the weather for Moscow for the New Year. Vilfand said that on December 31 it will be minus 13-17 degrees at night, and up to minus 9-14 degrees during the day. The specialist added that the temperature will be below normal by five to seven degrees. On the night of January 1, a 14-degree frost is expected in the capital. In the afternoon on the first day of the New Year in the city it will be from minus 10 to minus five degrees.
