Golikova: In Russia, the level of collective immunity to covid has reached 60.4%

The level of herd immunity to covid in Russia has reached 60.4%. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, who is quoted by the government headquarters for the fight against covid. According to Golikova, vaccination with the first component (data as of December 24) was carried out 77 million 876 thousand 905 times, vaccination of the full cycle (two components) – 73 million 106 thousand 249 times.

The leaders in terms of herd immunity are Sevastopol (90.2%) and Chukotka (80.3%). In Moscow it is 72%, a little more – in Tuva, Moscow region, Lipetsk, Murmansk and Kaliningrad regions.

Golikova stressed that it is very important to maintain the pace of vaccination and revaccination in the context of the emergence and spread of the omicron strain of covid, which is considered the most infectious and rapidly spreading of all.

We will remind, earlier Golikova said many times that in order to overcome a pandemic, the level of herd immunity should be 80% higher. The day before, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that today’s indicators are insufficient to consider Russians sufficiently protected from covid.

Golikova called on all unvaccinated Russians to make a present for themselves and their loved ones for the New Year – “give immunity from illness, it is free and safe.”
