A resident of Moscow, who caused a massive accident on the TTK before entering the Kutuzovsky tunnel with the participation of 20 cars, had no right to drive because of an illness, in connection with which he is registered in a mental hospital. This was reported by the press service of the capital’s prosecutor’s office.
During the inspection of the supervisory authority, it was found that the 34-year-old man has been registered in a neuropsychiatric dispensary since 2009. At the time of the accident, he was under the influence of a medication with antipsychotic and sedative effects, the prosecutor’s office added.
At the same time, the man has a driving license of category B, B1 (AS), M, valid until June 22, 2027, according to the Moscow agency. Following the inspection, the prosecutor’s office filed a lawsuit to invalidate the driver’s license.
A massive traffic accident occurred on December 21 on the outside of the Third Transport Ring in front of the entrance to the Kutuzovsky tunnel. The minivan driver crashed into 19 cars traveling in the same direction. Two people were injured.
