The Russian concern “Gazprom” did not book on Thursday the capacity of the Yamal – Europe pipeline for direct gas transit to Germany through Poland, RIA Novosti reports with reference to GSA Platform data.
Earlier, on some days, the company ordered capacity not on a regular basis, but at an additional session, and also used a short-term intraday booking for several hours. However, the offer for Thursday was again unclaimed.
Thus, TASS notes, for the third day in a row, reverse gas supplies through Yamal-Europe from Germany to Poland have been going on. The direction of gas pumping through the pipeline depends on the requests that the gas transmission operator receives from customers.
Note that on the eve of the Ukrainian state-owned company “Naftogaz” complained to the European Commission against “Gazprom”, “guilty” of the sharp rise in gas prices in Europe. According to the company, the Russian concern has significantly reduced the sale of its own gas on the European spot market, which limits the ability of its potential competitors to supply additional volumes of gas to Europe.
We also add that against the background of Gazprom’s refusal to book capacities, a new surge in prices for natural gas in Europe took place – the cost of fuel jumped to a record $ 2,190 per thousand cubic meters, which is extremely painful for both household consumers and industry.
