Oppositionist Alexei Navalny’s team posted on YouTube an investigation about the Russian State Duma deputy from United Russia and the former head of the Council of Ministers of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, Alexander Boroda.
The investigation claims Boroday owns 104 square meters of apartments in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Znak.com reported. It is also alleged that Boroday purchased the apartment in 2015, a year after returning from Donbass.
Investigators obtained a database of real estate owners in Dubai and found a person there, whose name and date of birth match Borodai’s data. They then confirmed the property information through the official national service of the United Arab Emirates.
Navalny’s team claims that Boroday is the owner of an apartment in the Grandeur Residences, located on the artificial island of Palm Jumeirah. Real estate in Dubai cost 450 thousand euros (37 million rubles). And this apartment is not reflected in the official declaration of the deputy.
Recall that Borodai’s declaration, filed as a candidate for deputy, indicated only an apartment in Moscow with an area of 142 square meters, the cost of which was estimated by the opposition at more than 100 million rubles. It was purchased in 2015. Also in 2021, Alexander Boroday purchased a Lexus car for 5.6 million rubles.
For 2020, the parliamentarian declared income of 0 rubles and 313 thousand rubles of the balance in bank accounts, the investigation said.
