Employees of the Investigative Committee of Russia organized a check after the scandalous statement of the famous designer and blogger Artemy Lebedev about the relics of the saints and the Lenin Mausoleum. This is reported by the agency “Moscow” with reference to a source in law enforcement agencies.
According to him, the information will be assessed for possible violation of the right to freedom of conscience and religion in Telegram – under Part 1 of Art. 148 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Violation of the right to freedom of conscience and religion”). “According to the available data, a statement about the holy relics was published on Lebedev’s page in obscene expressions,” the source said.
Lebedev earlier in his Telegram channel published a post about the relics of the saints, expressing the opinion that during their lifetime they “were ordinary drunks and of varying degrees of size by the authorities” and did not deserve any special respect. In addition, the designer asked the question, “why do corpses lie on display in the mausoleums.” He was also outraged by the queues of believers wishing to “kiss some box of Sergius of Radonezh’s dandruff”.
Vakhtang Kipshidze, deputy head of the Synodal Department of the Moscow Patriarchate for Church Relations with Society and the Media, commenting on Lebedev’s words, recalled criminal liability for insulting the feelings of believers.
The representative of the Russian Orthodox Church also recalled the criminal liability for insulting the feelings of believers.
