Russia calls on the State Department not to shift the blame “from a sore head to a healthy one,” discussing Ukraine

The Russian Embassy called on the US State Department not to shift responsibility for the growth of tension around Ukraine “from a sore head to a healthy one,” informing this in its Twitter.

This is the response to the statement made the day before by the press secretary of the American Foreign Ministry Ned Price that it is Russia and the pro-Russian forces, and not the United States and not the EU, that are responsible for the tense situation.

“For de-escalation, the United States should not create an anti-Russian military foothold on the borders of our country – to commit to exclude further expansion of NATO to the east, to refuse to admit former USSR states into the alliance,” the embassy said in a statement.

Another aggravation of the situation around Ukraine, which has been observed for almost two months, is associated with a hypothetical Russian attack on Ukraine. At the same time, Kiev demands preventive sanctions against the Russian Federation and expects that the United States and NATO will intercede for it. The Russian side denies accusations in this regard, especially since the only evidence of preparations for an attack on Ukraine remains satellite images of Russian military equipment, allegedly taken in regions bordering on the Russian Federation, and the dates of the invasion are postponed from day to day.
