During a search in the country house of Georgy Grets, the rector of Smolensk State University of Sports, suspected of large embezzlement, a copy of Monomakh’s hat, bidets and toilets “in gold”, as well as edged weapons, currency, stuffed animals and luxury goods were found.
Recall that Gretz was detained on suspicion of embezzling 1.5 million rubles. According to the investigation, the money was spent on the purchase of plumbing fixtures for his house and for other personal needs.
Photographs of the search in Grets’s house were provided to RIA Novosti by the regional FSB department. The plumbing in the house imitates gold and looks very expensive. The house also has a swimming pool, sauna and billiard room. On the backyard territory, there are gazebos, landscape sculptures, a carriage, houses and buildings are architecturally illuminated.
As reported by the investigation, the rector involved his subordinates in the repair of his own house, for which he paid them bonuses in the total amount of 150 thousand rubles. According to the investigation, 600 thousand rubles were spent on the purchase of plumbing in his country house from the funds of the university; another 800 thousand, which were transferred to pay for the repairs of the educational institution that were not carried out, went into the pocket of the rector and his accomplice from among the university employees.
