Journalist Ksenia Sobchak offered to cover the criminal case of blogger Yuri Khovansky, accused of justifying terrorism, in exchange for an exclusive interview. This follows from the blogger’s letter voiced by his girlfriend Maria Nelyubova during a YouTube stream.
The blogger’s defenders reached out to Sobchak at the end of September with a request to film material about the criminal prosecution. Initially, the parties managed to agree.
“Ksenia Anatolyevna told that she would cover it, but in return I owe her an exclusive interview after the release. I was stunned by such demands and said that an interview with me costs 2kk, but since she wants to help her so much, I will throw off up to 1kk, ”Khovansky said in a letter.
The blogger criticized the proposal of the media person and resorted to obscene language.
Nelyubova added in her personal Telegram channel that it was proposed to discuss the issue of payment for the exclusive at a personal meeting between Khovansky and Sobchak in the pre-trial detention center, but the journalist did not manage to get into the isolation ward without the permission of the investigator, therefore, “the question was suspended in mid-air.”
“Yura did not ask for money for any coverage of the situation. It was about paying for an exclusive after leaving the pre-trial detention center, and the amount there was much less than 2 million, ”summed up Nelyubova.
Earlier, the pre-trial detention center intensified checks on Khovansky’s correspondence after a resonant open letter.
