Two new verdicts added to the case of multimillion embezzlement in the Peterhof Museum

In St. Petersburg, the employees of the Peterhof museum were found guilty of complicity in multi-million dollar embezzlement. According to the united press service of the city courts, the defendants in the case will not have to go to the colony.

The leading engineer of the restoration department, Dmitry Demin, and the head of the same department, Dmitry Dorokhin, were in the dock.

“The accomplices committed complicity to the deputy general director of the Peterhof GMZ Sorokin in stealing the funds of the Peterhof GMZ entrusted to the latter, in the amount of 27,709,977, 97 rubles and 14,916,787.69 rubles,” the department said.

The court assigned each of them a four-year suspended sentence. The trial period will be two years. The museum’s civil claim against the defendants was satisfied.

Recall that the amount of illegal financial transactions in the museum reached 42.6 million rubles. According to the investigation, the work was not carried out in full, with cheap technologies and at an inflated cost. Earlier, an engineer of the contractor company was conditionally convicted in the case.
