St. Petersburg Polytechnic students isolated in a hostel due to the outbreak of coronavirus

In St. Petersburg, students of the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, living in dormitory number 13 on Grazhdansky Prospekt, were isolated due to the outbreak of coronavirus. The corresponding order of the rector was placed in the student group.

“In connection with the worsening epidemiological situation, the Vice-Rector for Security was ordered to provide an isolation regime for those living in building No. 13 and in modular dormitories of the mobile fund (buildings A, B and D),” the order says.

The city media write that 48 students have been diagnosed with coronavirus.

Rector Andrei Rudskoy also recommended monitoring the health status of students from South Africa who live in the listed buildings. The isolation regime in the hostel will be controlled with the help of police officers from the Kalinin district.

Also, from December 20, the university will switch to distance learning, and the session will be held in the same format. Mass cultural and sports events will be canceled on the territory of the Polytechnic University. The entrance to the campus buildings will be closed to visitors. Students will also not be able to get into the educational buildings.

“The remote format was introduced before the relevant order, which depends on the further development of the epidemiological situation,” the group said.

Earlier, Rosbalt wrote that more than 70 SPbU students were evicted from their dorms to a sanatorium due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.
