Deptrans called on Muscovites to buy gifts for the New Year online so as not to get stuck in traffic jams

The Deptrans warned motorists in Moscow that trips by private cars in the last days before the New Year will take longer than usual.

On Monday evening, 9-point traffic jams are expected on the roads of the capital, the press service of the department reported. The situation on the roads of Moscow was worsened by the pre-New Year rush, courier deliveries, snowfall, minor accidents, as well as some restrictions due to construction work.

“During the evening rush hour, travel time in private cars will increase. Movement will become freer after 20:00, ”the Department of Transport said.

In this regard, Muscovites are advised to use public transport to travel around the city in the coming days, since “this week will be the busiest before the New Year holidays.” “We strongly recommend that you think about gifts in advance (it is better to order them online) and use public transport to travel around the city,” the department concluded.
