Britain, the United States and Canada are creating a coalition to combat foreign policy propaganda that is directed against democracy and human rights. The corresponding statement was published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom.
According to the document, the manipulation of international information harms state security and also undermines democratic institutions and values. According to the heads of the foreign affairs departments of the three countries, it is necessary to involve experts, global media, and intergovernmental organizations in the fight against propaganda.
Previously, the Kremlin stated that EU authorities are trying to impose a ban on alternative sources of information. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that such a policy does not correspond to Western values of freedom of speech and the press.
