Dmitry Volvach: PhosAgro improves the working conditions of its employees and the well-being of the local population

Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Volvach highly praised the decision of PhosAgro management to index wages by 15%. He also noted the company’s significant contribution to the development of the territories where it operates and improving the quality of life of the local population.

Earlier, PhosAgro announced an increase in wages at all Group enterprises from February 1. Indexation amounted to 15% and became the largest in the domestic industry since the beginning of the year.

As the company notes, in addition to a stable increase in wages, PhosAgro enterprises have a flexible system of motivation and bonuses based on meeting and exceeding planned production targets. Bonuses are paid annually for professional holidays – Chemist’s Day and Miner’s Day. Thus, in 2023, each employee was paid a total of 100 thousand rubles, veterans of enterprises – 20 thousand rubles. All enterprises have new collective agreements, recognized by experts as the best in the industry. And over the past 10 years, the company has increased its funding of charitable and social projects by 7 times, allocating over 25 billion rubles for these purposes in 2022–2023 alone.

According to the Deputy Minister of Economic Development, what deserves special respect is that “leading industry companies in Russia continue to demonstrate their commitment to the principles of high social responsibility in the face of unprecedented sanctions pressure and the restructuring of the national economy.”

“An example of the progressive improvement of the working conditions of its employees and the well-being of the local population in the regions of its presence is the PhosAgro Group of Companies. One of the significant indicators of high production and economic results of the PhosAgro Group of Companies is the growth of average wages. Over the past three years it has grown by 60%. And in January 2024, the board of PhosAgro PJSC, following an extended meeting with the participation of members of the board of directors and senior management of the company, decided to again index the salaries of employees of all enterprises of the Group – by another 15%,” Volvach noted.

He also emphasized that it was no coincidence that PhosAgro won in most nominations and achieved the maximum result in the first National Award “Leaders of Responsible Business,” established on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Speaking about the significance of the award, Dmitry Volvach noted that “its main goal is to promote the development of responsible business practices, recognition of the contribution of companies to social development – the formation of a favorable social and natural environment, the sustainable development of territories, and the strengthening of the country.”

“It is pleasant to note that the PhosAgro company takes an active part in the foreign agenda, integrates in matters of cooperation with the CIS countries, and takes part in foreign forums and conferences,” said the Deputy Minister of Economic Development.

44 Russian companies took part in the first “Leaders of Responsible Business” award. According to the terms of the competition for evaluation by the expert council, they could present no more than three social projects in five strategic areas. PhosAgro showed the best possible results: all three social initiatives it implements in the regions where it operates were recognized as the best in their categories.

The winners were awarded during the RSPP social forum “Human Development as a Factor of Sustainable Development in the Conditions of Global Change,” which was held in Moscow last week. The presentation of the highest award of the prize awarded to PhosAgro will take place as part of the RSPP congress in April.

“Since the creation of PhosAgro in 2001, care for the workforce and all residents of the regions where it operates has been the foundation on which production indicators have rapidly grown, new facilities have been created and existing ones have been modernized, innovations have been introduced, and tax contributions to budgets of all levels have consistently increased,” – noted PhosAgro General Director Mikhail Rybnikov. He promised that the company will continue to follow the chosen strategy of high social responsibility.
